i havent been saving images to my desktop, and therefore, my sad, little, blog, has been short on them. heres an image by kore flatmo that justin made me save for him. im still kind of sick. my head feels all floaty, but the neti pot helps a lot.
im really unmotivated though.... and sleepy. i am really sick of being sick. i just want to be healthy for an extended period of time.

ive been organizing, as of late. i am trying to go "desktop-less", which is my version of "paper-less" and involves finding new venues via the interweb to store my information, vs. relying solely on the effectiveness of my laptop as a storage device.... even externals eventually crash.

i have slimmed my blog reading way down, and imported them all into google reader, so i dont have to worry about losing links. i have also been fastidiously saving my images to my i heart it account, which saves A LOT of space. i wish more of my friends would get heart accounts... hint, hint. i still have lots of files on my computer that i am slowly filtering through....

i just heard that domino mag is getting cancelled. any chance you think they will give me my money back for my recent subscription? doubtful.

today is justins birthday. he is old.

i am sick. justin is sick. its funny to me that i managed to work for five days while sick, and the first day that justin gets a sniffle, he calls in. i have bronchitis for the millionth time. awesome. since giving in to my illness, ive been sleeping a lot. its been lovely. i managed to clean up a little tonight and put together a crappy dinner.
henry got his parts snipped yesterday. i am supposed to keep him from playing for a week.... which is going to be impossible.
i got my first issue of martha stewart living today. very exciting.
ugh. im going to go lay down....

im in la guardia airport, ny. traveling makes me tired. traveling and cold weather. drinking lots of tasty beers and eating much food, also. i am on my way back to richmond from my impromptu trip to maine. my grandmother died last tuesday, so i caught a flight home thursday. i didnt have a particularly close relationship with my grandmother, but in retrospect, i really wish i did. i now recognize how selfless and caring she was, and she has inspired me to learn to be less judgmental.

a brief overview of my trip itinerary:

1130ish thursday: arrive in portland maine, cab over to borders, wait for amy to pick me up. drink coffee, start new, exciting drawing. see fifty-foot snowbank.
1230: head back to the dorms. stuff myself with free cafeteria food. soak up free internet. attempt to nap.
230: finally meet trisha. hang on her giant bed. drink dunkin donuts coffee.
500: head to gardiner. drop my stuff off at my brothers.
600: visiting hours at the funeral home. creepy open casket that i am not emotionally prepared to deal with. reconnect with many old faces.
8:00 back to bros. pizza and many many beers.

friday
1100: funeral. really amazing. so many good stories.... "nothings wrong"
1230: beers at the depot. the depot was a total sleezebar when i lived in gardiner a million years ago, so i was really excited to go there, and definitely feeling like a beer was necessary before heading to the family gathering. i was really disappointed to find that they had completely remodeled, and was bright, cute, and comfortable.
100: family gathering at my aunts. lots of funny stories and drunk family.
300: head out to amys mom farm in whitefield. played with baby cow, bert and kitty, the hog.
500: head back to portland. order really tasty food. lay around in dorm.
900: downtown portland. empire/whiteheart. beers. hanging with my cousin amanda. some dancing. suprising amount of cute people.
1230: sleep

saturday
1000: 158. fresh bagels. back to gardiner.
1100: devons basketball game.
1200: family time at bros. beers.
200: family dinner at longhorn. so many cheesefries.
500: back to portland. lazy night. internet.

sunday
800: head to airport, find out flight is cancelled. hang in airport til 1130 flight. overcharged for wireless internet service.





...................... im ready to be home. eat tasty food with j. hang with my doggies.

i just want to take a minute and remind myself of how amazing it is to be working in a girl-friendly, fire cracker free/drama free shop. the change has had such an incredible effect on me in so many ways....

i have been tattooing a ton, and can already recognize vast improvements in my work and my confidence level.
i have been drawing and painting everyday.
i have been laughing a lot, and not crying at all.

this place makes me feel wanted and valued, and thats awesome... and its what i deserve.

in other news, the piercing apprentice, and one of my all time favs, liza, pierced my nose. it hurts a little, and it makes me want to sneeze a lot.
i also bought hand-carved turquoise 0 gauge hanging earrings. they are amazing.

i watched the documentary "stolen" from netflix and it was pretty interesting. it was about the art robbery at the isabella gardner museum in boston. also the jardowosky documentary.... i feel like i need to watch that 50 more times to fully absorb it though.

i bought some stuff on etsy. im rill 'cited.

i now have internets at my house! i am very excited... mostly because now i can make thorough use of my netflix "watch instant" option. this weekend is busy for me, and i mostly want to stay inside and draw/paint.
i finished my first watercolor painting yesterday. its a really fast process, but definitely didnt come out as tightly executed as i wouldve liked.
i got a "grown-up" purse from urban, which i refer to as such because its the first purse ive ever owned that cost me more than $20.
i have to work at urban tonight, and i am feeling super lazy. hopefully it will be busy and there will be fun people.
i shouldnt have eaten that choco-pudding cup. fake sugar tastes like crack.

i have been so completely exhausted as of late. working two jobs is really taking a toll on me, particularly working at urban outfitters, at the mall, during the holiday craziness.

im not really sure what my schedule will be after the holidays, i know a lot of people are trying to get scheduled, so ill try to get on that. i want to take a nap. i am passed the point of caffeine helping anymore.... and i have to be at the mall at 8am tomorrow morning. normally, i am a total xmas person..... blah-humbug.

things have been pretty obnoxious lately = lack of updates. i have been being a giant gaping vagina for days. i came across pictures of porky today and cried a little. now my head hurts.

watched the new david lynch documentary "lynch" (which is completely fucking amazing, and a beautiful tribute to him)
dropped off stuff to "elderly friends of virginia" for gift baskets, and was matched with my new elder friend alma, who im super stoked to start hanging out with!

I really want to take part in a CSA next year... (community supported agriculture) they send you fresh veggies every week, and its a surprise package. you dont know exactly what you are getting, or how much of it you are getting. it would be cool to start eating weird veggies and learning to cook new things. maybe that can be one of my resolutions. the farm im looking at costs $575 dollars, and sends food from may til the end of september, all organic. they also have fruit, and fresh herbs. and from what ive read its hard to make it through all the food.
